West Ham Step Up Hunt For £10m League One Defender

The Story So Far

West Ham United are reportedly intensifying their efforts to secure a new defensive signing from the third tier of English football. Club scouts and recruitment personnel have focused their attention on a League One defender as they look to strengthen the backline. The prospective deal is estimated to be worth approximately £10 million. This increased activity suggests the Hammers are prepared to invest significantly in promising talent from the lower leagues to bolster their defensive options. The move reflects a strategic push to identify value outside of the top flight while addressing specific depth requirements within the club's senior squad.
