CUP COMPETITIONS

West Ham United’s EFL Cup campaign ended in the third round following a rollercoaster run. They opened with a thrilling 3-1 comeback victory over Portsmouth at home, driven by a Valentín Castellanos brace. The Hammers followed this up with an emphatic 4-1 away thrashing of Southampton in the second round. However, their cup run came to a halt in a five-goal thriller against Fulham, losing 3-2 at the London Stadium after Oscar Bobb scored a decisive 78th-minute winner to knock them out.
