West Ham could get London Stadium for free after Sadiq Khan update - Insider

The Story So Far

West Ham United may be positioned to take full control of the London Stadium at no expense following recent updates from the Mayor of London. Discussions surrounding the future of the venue indicate that a change in ownership structure could see the club move away from its current rental arrangement. This potential transfer follows ongoing assessments regarding the financial management and long-term sustainability of the site. While the club currently maintains a long-term occupancy agreement, acquiring the facility would represent a significant shift in their operational model, potentially resolving long-standing complexities regarding the stadium's overhead costs and its relationship with public sector funding.
