Spurs want West Ham's Fernandes after Tonali bid rejected

The Story So Far

West Ham United midfielder Mateus Fernandes has emerged as a transfer target for Tottenham Hotspur during the current window. The Hammers have reportedly placed an £80 million valuation on the central midfielder as interest from their London rivals intensifies. This pursuit follows unsuccessful attempts by the North London club to recruit from elsewhere, including a rejected offer for Newcastle United's Sandro Tonali. As Tottenham continues their search for midfield reinforcements, the significant price tag set by West Ham suggests a firm stance on the player's future. The situation remains developing as both clubs navigate their own respective summer recruitment strategies.
