Southampton re-sign former captain Ward-Prowse

The Story So Far

West Ham United have concluded a deal for James Ward-Prowse to return to Southampton. The midfielder departs the London club to rejoin his former side, where he previously spent a significant portion of his professional career and served as captain. This move signals the end of his tenure in East London, as he heads back to the south coast to link up with his old team once again. The transfer was finalised after negotiations between the two organisations, resulting in the player making a switch away from the Hammers. The departure adjusts the current squad options available to the coaching staff as the season continues to unfold.
