Preview: West Ham and Derby meet in the league for the first time since 2011

The Story So Far

West Ham United are preparing for a league encounter with Derby County, ending a hiatus in this competition that dates back to 2011. This fixture represents the first league meeting between the clubs in over a decade, following a long period where they occupied different levels of the English football pyramid. While both clubs have navigated various challenges in the intervening years, the absence of regular fixtures makes this match a rare occurrence for modern supporters. For the historical archive, the game marks the resumption of a professional rivalry that has been dormant in league terms since their last encounter.
