Liverpool show off new set-play prowess in chaotic win over West Ham

The Story So Far

West Ham United faced a difficult afternoon as defensive lapses contributed to a 5-2 defeat against Liverpool. The opposition demonstrated significant efficiency from set-pieces, scoring three times from corners during the opening half. These efforts from Hugo Ekitike, Virgil van Dijk, and Alex Mac Allister all beat Hammers goalkeeper Mads Hermansen, highlighting ongoing vulnerabilities in dead-ball situations. Nuno Espirito Santo’s side, currently fighting to avoid relegation, has now conceded fifteen goals from corners this season, the highest total in the division. The result emphasizes the defensive challenges facing the club as they look to secure their top-flight status amidst a challenging run of form.
