'A big rivalry that doesn't get played out'

The Story So Far

West Ham United are set to face Millwall this Saturday in a fixture that marks the first competitive meeting between the two clubs in fourteen years. Although the rivalry is historically significant, the teams have rarely met in recent times due to their placement in different tiers of English football. This weekend's encounter ends a lengthy hiatus for one of London's most notable local derbies. Ahead of the match, local radio coverage has provided detailed analysis and previews to examine the context surrounding the game’s return. The scheduled fixture highlights a competitive relationship that has lacked frequent on-pitch activity for over a decade.
